Befriend the nagas and help the Dharma grow by supporting the Naga House at Kechara Forest Retreat. This special shrine was created to establish and maintain a good relationship with these powerful serpent spirits. It houses 50 Naga Vases — consecrated ritual vases which are inhabited by nagas and contain their energy. It also includes a shrine to Buddha Shakyamuni, naga-appropriate offerings, and a naga garden planted with offerings of sandalwood trees, flowers and other fragrant wood.
"Pleasing the nagas can result in improvements to one’s wealth, fame and health. Peace and harmony can increase, and various obstacles and sicknesses in life can be removed.”
– Tsem Rinpoche
The offering of this special shrine pleases these powerful beings and brings great benefits for sponsors. As many of us have a strong karmic connection with the nagas, the Naga House is incredibly beneficial on an individual level. It is also very beneficial:
- For individual sponsors in terms of health, wealth, fame and harmony, and to please and appease the nagas.
- For the organisation in terms of generating wealth for Dharma activities.
- For the land in terms of pacifying the weather, keeping the elements in balance, and increasing its fertility.
- For the growth of Dharma in general.
