Description

The trees and plants at Kechara Forest Retreat require regular maintenance and care. Spread over 35 acres of land with various topographies, soil conditions, and a vast variety of flora and fauna, the work needed to maintain this natural forest environment is no small feat. In addition, we are home to a farm and nursery which provides vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers for our community of residents and visitors.

Please help us maintain this green paradise for future generations to enjoy. By contributing to the upkeep of this peaceful forest haven, you are helping to create an environment that will benefit all visitors through sight, sound, smell, taste and touch as they come here in search of solace, peace and spiritual attainments. You are also making an offering directly to the Three Jewels as the whole environment is created for growth of the Buddha Dharma.

Making a Donation

  1. Set a positive motivation before making a donation. The purer your intention, the greater the merit generated.
  2. Select your desired amount and type of sponsorship (where applicable).
  3. In the “Dedication” section: Provide the name of the person/entity the sponsorship is dedicated to. You can also include a specific wish or request. Our sangha/pastors/team will dedicate the merits according to your wishes.
  4. In the “Sponsor” section: Provide the name of the sponsor (benefactor). This is optional; sponsors can choose to remain anonymous.
  5. After making the donation, rejoice and dedicate the merits you have generated.
  6. From time to time, we share updates of various projects on our website and social media pages (Facebook and Instagram). Please follow us if you would like to stay informed.

Sponsoring the Temple

Over 2,500 years ago, Buddha turned the wheel of Dharma to bring sentient beings out of suffering. In modern times, his precious teachings are kept alive in Dharma centres, temples and monasteries — physical places where spiritual seekers can find solace, advice and help. Financial support for such places of worship is essential for Buddha’s teachings to grow and thrive. That’s why sponsoring the temple and contributing to its upkeep and facilities is a core practice in all Buddhist traditions. Kechara Forest Retreat is one such place.

Buddha taught that sponsors who help to build and maintain holy temples, or contribute towards its daily operations will gain great merits, enjoy incredible wealth and power in future lives, and eventually attain enlightenment. Further, as the great Indian yogi Nagden Pawo said:

“Anyone who contributes to the building of a temple, no matter how small that contribution is, even if it is just requesting others for donations, continuously collects tremendous merits even as they go about their daily lives.”

About Kechara Forest Retreat

Since our inception in 2012, Kechara Forest Retreat has grown to become a renowned Tibetan Buddhist Retreat and Wellness centre, known for result-focused spiritual and meditational programmes. Our 35-acre centre in the exurban forest enclave of Bentong, Pahang is also a sacred ground, home to a pantheon of Tibetan deities and holy sites. It is here, amidst the lush verdant highlands that we impart a contemporary presentation of Buddhist teachings and practices, to bring you closer to Buddha’s wisdom in the Tibetan spiritual tradition.
